Dr. Jay Bergamini
Dr. Bergamini was born on the south side of Chicago in Oak Lawn. He graduated and was inducted into the Marist High School Hall of Fame. He completed his undergraduate studies at Illinois State University, graduated from Loyola University Dental School, served actively in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps and served actively with the United States Marine Corps. He completed his 4-Year hospital residency at Loyola University Medical Center under the Department of General Surgery in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is trained in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including reconstructive, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, dentoalveolar trauma, bone grafting, dental implants, pathology, all aspects of oral surgery and outpatient anesthesia.
Dr. Bergamini has given numerous lectures and presented papers/publications to Loyola University Medical Center, the Great Lakes Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Chicago Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has presented many lectures to hundreds of students at Benet Academy, Naperville Central High School and Neuqua Valley High School on the topics of Oral and Maxillofacial trauma, pathology and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Bergamini was a 10-year member of the Edward Hospital Foundation Board, Chairman of the $1.0 Million Dollar Campaign for the Edward Hospital Caring for Families and Children and is a major donor to Edward Hospital Foundation and the Edward Cancer Center. He is a major donor to the Naperville Carillon Foundation and a monthly donor to Loaves & Fishes, and organization that assists in providing food for needy families.
Dr. Bergamini’s practice includes removal of third molars (wisdom teeth), orthodontic exposures, dental implant placement, bone grafts, biopsies, removal of tumors and cysts, jaw preparation for dentures, treatment of infections, abscesses, root tip surgery, administering general anesthesia and sedation, orthognathic surgery, and oral and maxillofacial trauma.
Dr. Bergamini is proud to be an active, participating examiner with the Illinois State Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Anesthesia Committee since 1995. He examines multiple oral surgery offices each year with on-site visits.
Dr. Bergamini’s practice philosophy is to diagnose and treat every patient as if they were his own family and to make each patient feel comfortable and relaxed in all situations. He provides the absolute best available care utilizing state-of-the-art technology and techniques.
